SPAPI_E_BAD_SERVICE_INSTALLSECT
SPAPI_E_BAD_SERVICE_INSTALLSECT means that SetupAPI found an invalid service-install section in the INF. Driver service installation is declared through DDInstall.Services and AddService, so a wrong section reference, invalid service-install fields, or malformed AddService directive can stop driver installation.
What to check
- Check that DDInstall.Services references the intended service-install section for the selected model and platform.
- Validate every AddService entry, including the service name, flags, and referenced service-install section.
- Review SetupAPI.dev.log together with the INF section hierarchy to find the first invalid service-related entry.
