SCARD_E_UNKNOWN_CARD The specified smart-card name is not recognized by the local smart-card database. The name may be stale, misspelled, or not registered for the current user or machine configuration.
What to check
- Do not guess a card name from its label; use the names exposed by the smart-card database or a supported card-identification workflow.
- Verify the ATR-to-card mapping and the installed minidriver or provider registration.
- If a custom card type is required, register it through the documented smart-card database APIs rather than by copying entries between machines.
