SCARD_E_PIN_CACHE_EXPIRED The cached smart-card PIN is no longer valid for the requested operation. The cache lifetime is deliberately limited, so applications must be prepared to request PIN verification again.
Correct handling
- Prompt for the PIN through the supported credential or middleware flow rather than attempting background reuse.
- Review policy and provider settings that control PIN caching and expiration.
- Avoid treating this as an incorrect-PIN error; it does not mean that the user entered the wrong value.
