WU_E_PT_DOUBLE_INITIALIZATION
WU_E_PT_DOUBLE_INITIALIZATION is a lifecycle error: a Windows Update protocol object was already initialized when another initialization was attempted. It is not an HTTP, DNS, or content-download error.
How to interpret it
- Check for overlapping update scans, service restarts, or management tooling that starts concurrent operations.
- Look for a preceding cancellation or initialization failure that left the update session in an unexpected state.
- Retry from a fresh update session after the original operation has fully ended.
