WU_E_INVALID_EVENT_PAYLOADSIZE
WU_E_INVALID_EVENT_PAYLOADSIZE means the event data supplied to a Windows Update component did not have the required size. A truncated buffer, an incorrect length field, or a mismatched protocol version can produce it.
What to inspect
- Log both the declared length and the actual serialized data length in the caller or integration layer.
- Check for version mismatch between the producer and consumer of the event payload.
- Search backward from the final HRESULT for an earlier data-conversion or transport error.
