WU_E_DS_DUPLICATEUPDATEID means the update server sent one update identity with two different revision IDs. This is a metadata consistency problem at the source or synchronization layer.
What to check
- Record the update ID and both revision IDs from
WindowsUpdate.log. - In a managed environment, inspect WSUS or the update-catalog synchronization history for duplicate or inconsistent metadata.
- Do not assume reinstalling the client alone will correct a server-side identity conflict.
