WU_E_AU_DETECT_SVCID_MISMATCH
WU_E_AU_DETECT_SVCID_MISMATCH means the default update-service identifier changed during detection. This usually happens when the source configuration changes while a scan is already running.
How to handle it
- Avoid switching WSUS, Windows Update, alternate download-server, or MDM policy settings during an active scan.
- After configuration is stable, run detection again so the scan uses one consistent service identity.
- In fleet management, correlate the time of the failure with policy deployment or update-service migration activity.
