What does HRESULT 0x80280017 (TPM_E_SIZE) mean?

TPM_E_SIZE

TPM_E_SIZE means the TPM 1.2 did not have the space required to perform the operation. This result is broader than a Windows allocation failure: it refers to the capacity available within the TPM operation’s constraints.

Do not collapse it into TPM_E_NOSPACE. The latter specifically says there is no room to load a key; TPM_E_SIZE can arise in a different command path where the requested action needs capacity that is not available.
