TPM_20_E_OBJECT_MEMORY
Resident object memory is a limited TPM resource
TPM_20_E_OBJECT_MEMORY represents TPM_RC_OBJECT_MEMORY. A TPM can store persistent object metadata and also load a smaller number of transient objects into protected working memory. This warning means the command needs another loaded object slot but all available object-context memory is occupied.
This is not Windows virtual-memory exhaustion and should not be handled by enlarging the process heap. With a resource manager, objects can be context-swapped automatically; direct TPM clients must explicitly flush or save handles they no longer need.
What to inspect
- Enumerate transient handles and identify objects whose lifetime has outlasted the operation that created them.
- Close TBS contexts so their associated objects can be flushed.
- Use a resource manager for concurrent clients rather than sharing unmanaged raw handles.
- Do not evict a persistent key merely to free transient memory; persistent handles and loaded-object slots are different resources.
