TPM_E_PCP_INVALID_HANDLE indicates that a caller passed a Platform Crypto Provider handle that is invalid, closed, from another provider, or no longer valid after a key/provider lifecycle change.
What to check
- In CNG code, verify that the storage-provider and key handles are opened successfully and are not reused after
NCryptFreeObject. - Do not mix handles obtained from the Microsoft Platform Crypto Provider with handles from a software or smart-card provider.
- Preserve the first failing status from the CNG call; this code is often a follow-up after an earlier provider-open or key-open failure.
