FVE_E_NOT_SUPPORTED is returned when BitLocker does not support encryption for the selected drive or configuration. The reason can be the volume role, file system, storage type, Windows edition, or platform capability.
How to narrow it down
- Collect the volume type, file system, conversion state, encryption method, and key protectors.
- Check whether the device meets the supported BitLocker disk-layout and platform requirements.
