FVE_E_NOT_DATA_VOLUME
FVE_E_NOT_DATA_VOLUME means the operation is limited to a data volume but the selected drive is the Windows operating-system drive. BitLocker uses different protector and management rules for OS and data volumes.
What to check
- Confirm the drive letter and volume role before changing protectors or auto-unlock settings.
- Use OS-volume procedures for the system drive and data-volume procedures for other fixed drives.
- Review the current protection state before retrying the command with another volume.
