FVE_E_NOT_OS_VOLUME
FVE_E_NOT_OS_VOLUME indicates that the selected target is not the Windows operating-system volume. OS-volume operations such as TPM startup protection cannot simply be applied to arbitrary data volumes.
What to check
- Confirm the Windows installation volume and do not infer it solely from a drive letter in a recovery environment.
- Use data-volume protectors and procedures for fixed or removable data drives.
- Review volume role and protection state before retrying the operation.
