FVE_E_BUFFER_TOO_LARGE / 0x803100CF marks a rejected BitLocker transition: the caller supplied an input buffer larger than the BitLocker interface accepts for this operation.
Avoid “repair” commands until the filesystem, partition and BitLocker metadata layers have been distinguished. A change at the wrong layer can remove evidence or make recovery harder.
