E_IMAPI_ERASE_DRIVE_FAILED_ERASE_COMMAND
E_IMAPI_ERASE_DRIVE_FAILED_ERASE_COMMAND occurs after IMAPI reaches the device erase command and the drive reports failure. It is therefore later in the workflow than recorder-selection or media-support checks and should be investigated as a drive/media command failure.
Preserve the command-stage context and physical media
- Record whether full or quick erase was requested and the current media type.
- Keep recorder vendor/product/revision and any preceding sense-data or readiness status.
- Test with another compatible erasable medium before assuming the application image or source files are responsible.
The erase operation acts on optical media and does not consume the data stream used by IDiscFormat2Data::Write. Source-file permissions, ISO contents, and file-system image naming rules therefore cannot directly cause this command-stage error. If failure reproduces only on one disc, media condition is a strong candidate; if it reproduces across compatible media on one recorder, investigate the recorder and firmware path.
