D2DERR_UNSUPPORTED_OPERATION means that the API call is valid in general, but the selected Direct2D object, target, effect, or device capability does not support that particular operation.
How to diagnose it
- Identify the exact concrete interface and render target used at the failing call.
- Check feature-level, target-type, pixel-format, and option requirements for that operation.
- Provide a fallback path when hardware acceleration or an optional Direct2D capability is unavailable.
Changing unrelated geometry or brush values will not fix an operation that the selected target cannot implement.
