STATUS_NO_LOG_SPACE
Registry durability could not reserve its log space
Hive updates rely on supporting log data so interrupted writes can be recovered. This status means the registry could not obtain the space needed for that logging step; it is not the same as a missing application value.
The constraint can be caused by an exhausted volume, filesystem allocation failure, quota or resource pressure, or abnormal hive growth. Deleting hive log files while the system is using them removes recovery evidence and can make the situation worse.
What to inspect
- Check free space and allocation errors on the volume containing the hive.
- Measure recent growth of the hive and its supporting files.
- Identify the process or installer producing unusually large registry changes.
- Use supported backup and recovery procedures instead of deleting LOG files manually.
