STATUS_SOURCE_ELEMENT_EMPTY
The selected changer source element contains no cartridge
A medium-move request named a slot, drive, IE port, or transport element as its source, but the changer inventory reports that element empty. The inventory can be stale after door access, manual movement, reset, or a previous failed robotic operation.
Refresh element status and locate the expected volume by barcode or volume tag before issuing another move. Changing only the numeric source address can move the wrong cartridge. In concurrent backup systems, also check reservations and job ownership.
What to inspect
- Record source element type, address, expected volume tag, and move command.
- Reinitialize or refresh changer inventory after resets or operator access.
- Locate and reserve the correct cartridge before retrying the move.
