STATUS_QUOTA_ACTIVITY
Quota state is still being updated
Enabling, disabling, rebuilding, or changing quota tracking can require background processing of volume metadata. This status reports that another quota activity has not reached a state where the requested operation can safely proceed.
The condition is potentially transient, but an immediate tight retry loop is inappropriate. Observe the quota state and system events, then retry after the active scan or transition completes.
What to inspect
- Identify whether the volume is initializing, rebuilding, deleting, or applying quota entries.
- Monitor quota-related events and state rather than relying on a fixed sleep.
- Serialize administrative quota changes so multiple tools do not compete for the same volume.
