STATUS_NOT_SUPPORTED_ON_DAX
The requested operation is incompatible with a DAX volume
Direct Access maps persistent storage into the application address space and bypasses the normal file-system block I/O path. Some operations that depend on page-cache, remapping, or ordinary buffered-I/O semantics are therefore unavailable on DAX volumes.
Verify that the volume is intentionally DAX-enabled and that the application is DAX-aware. The fix might be to use a supported operation, move the workload to a block-mode volume, or redesign the data path. Reformatting the volume merely to suppress the status can introduce data-loss risk.
What to inspect
- Confirm the volume DAX property and persistent-memory configuration.
- Identify the exact unsupported control code or file operation.
- Test the workload on supported block-mode storage before migration.
