EPT_NT_CANT_PERFORM_OP
Endpoint mapper operation cannot be performed
EPT_NT_CANT_PERFORM_OP is returned by endpoint-mapper operations, not by the application manager routine behind an RPC interface. The request reached the endpoint-mapper path but the requested database action cannot be completed in the current state.
This can point to an unsupported endpoint-map operation, an invalid combination of entry data and operation, a service-state problem, or a failure while updating the local endpoint database. It is different from a normal lookup that simply finds no registered endpoint.
What to check
- Identify whether the failing call is registration, unregister, lookup, or management of endpoint-map entries.
- Check that the RPC Endpoint Mapper service is running and that the server process has completed protocol-sequence registration before exporting entries.
- Inspect adjacent RPC runtime errors; this status often appears after a lower-level validation or database update failure.
