RPC_NT_NAME_SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE
RPC cannot contact or use the name service
This status means the name-service infrastructure itself is unavailable. The server and endpoint may still be running, but the name-service layer cannot perform export, import, or lookup.
Diagnose provider configuration, network reachability and namespace availability. If the application can use direct string bindings or endpoint mapper lookup, those paths may bypass the failing name service.
What to inspect
- Check provider availability before changing interface UUIDs.
- Confirm whether direct binding or endpoint mapper lookup succeeds.
- Record whether the failure occurred during export, import, lookup or unexport.
