RPC_NT_FP_DIV_ZERO

Floating-point divide-by-zero on the RPC server

RPC_NT_FP_DIV_ZERO belongs to the Windows RPC runtime NTSTATUS facility. MS-RPCE extends the DCE/RPC model: generated stubs marshal parameters, the runtime binds to an endpoint and protocol sequence, and security or transport failures can be returned as RPC facility status values.

This status is returned when the remote server, not the client transport, raises a floating-point divide-by-zero exception while processing an RPC operation.

The important distinction is that the RPC layer has already delivered the call far enough for server code to run. Check server-side validation of numeric parameters, scale factors, and data-dependent calculations before investigating endpoint availability.
