The rip destination cannot be prepared
NS_E_UNABLE_TO_CREATE_RIP_LOCATION (0xC00D10D0) is a destination-management failure. Disc detection and the CD-reading path can be healthy while Player cannot create or resolve the directory where ripped tracks should be written.
Capture the resolved path
Record the configured rip root, expanded user/environment variables, final path, volume availability, ACLs, quota, and the first directory-creation error. A stale network or redirected path can fail even when local ripping components work.
Controlled test
Create a directory and small file under the same account in the exact parent folder. If that succeeds, inspect Player's generated subfolder/name rules. If it fails, correct storage or permissions before touching codec or CD settings.
