NS_E_WMP_SERVER_SECURITY_ERROR
Diagnosing NS_E_WMP_SERVER_SECURITY_ERROR in the Windows Media Player playback path
NS_E_WMP_SERVER_SECURITY_ERROR (0xC00D11E4) is returned when security information received while connecting to the media server could not be validated.
Diagnostic discriminator: Preserve the certificate chain, server identity, and exact security-validation result from the failing connection. A known-good chain to the same server is the right control; globally disabling certificate or trust checks only hides the boundary that returned this HRESULT.
Actions that obscure the cause
- disabling certificate validation or trusting an unknown root globally.
