NS_E_AUDIO_BITRATE_STEPDOWN
The audio bitrate ladder steps down
NS_E_AUDIO_BITRATE_STEPDOWN (0xC00D1BB9) is a relationship error across audiences. As total audience bandwidth increases, the profile unexpectedly assigns less bitrate to audio. Each audio value may be supported individually, but the multi-bitrate progression is inconsistent.
Compare adjacent audiences
Sort audiences by total bitrate and record audio and video allocation for each. Locate the first pair where total rate rises but audio rate falls, and verify that audience indexes have not been reordered by profile editing.
Correction
Adjust the audience allocations to the intended nondecreasing audio ladder and validate again. Do not change source audio format or codec unless a later, codec-specific HRESULT indicates that those are also invalid.
