MF_E_BUFFERTOOSMALL
MF_E_BUFFERTOOSMALL means that the caller supplied insufficient output storage. It does not by itself identify malformed media data or an unsupported codec.
Diagnose the contract
- Check whether the API reports a required size through an output parameter, stream-information structure, or an earlier query call.
- Keep byte counts and element counts distinct; a buffer sized for samples is not necessarily sized for bytes.
- When an MFT provides output-buffer requirements, obtain them after media-type negotiation and refresh them after a stream change.
Allocate or reuse a buffer according to the component contract, then retry the operation only after the buffer has been resized.
