MF_E_NO_CLOCK

MF_E_NO_CLOCK means a clock-dependent operation was requested from an object that has no usable clock reference. In a Media Foundation playback pipeline, the Media Session normally creates a presentation clock and all timed media sinks share it for synchronization.

Identify which layer should supply the clock

This differs from MF_E_CLOCK_NO_TIME_SOURCE: in that case a presentation clock object exists, but no time source has been assigned to drive it.

Microsoft: presentation clock · Microsoft: IMFMediaSession::GetClock · Microsoft: Source Reader timing limitations
