MF_E_SHUTDOWN
MF_E_SHUTDOWN is a terminal lifecycle result for many Media Foundation sources, sinks, and related objects. After shutdown, normal interface methods are no longer usable, even if the object reference still exists.
Fix ownership and teardown ordering
- Stop issuing work before calling
Shutdownand wait for callbacks that can still touch the object. - Cancel or gate asynchronous operations during teardown.
- Create a new object for a new session; do not attempt to reactivate a shut-down source or sink.
In custom implementations, return this result consistently after shutdown so callers do not observe partly released state.
