MF_E_TRANSFORM_PROPERTY_VALUE_INCOMPATIBLE

MF_E_TRANSFORM_PROPERTY_VALUE_INCOMPATIBLE is not a simple numeric range failure. The value conflicts with another property or with a media type already set on the transform.

Log the complete active configuration at the failing write

  • Record the property GUID and proposed value, then capture other codec properties that control the same feature area.
  • Dump the current input and output media types, including subtype, frame size, sample rate, channel count, and codec-specific attributes that apply.
  • When available, use SetValueWithNotify or capability queries to observe related settings rather than applying an unordered list of independent values.

A value can be valid in isolation and still be impossible for the selected resolution, profile, channel layout, or another enabled codec feature. Resetting to defaults and applying settings in a documented order is more diagnostic than repeatedly forcing the same property.
