MF_E_CAPTURE_SINK_ROTATE_ERROR
MF_E_CAPTURE_SINK_ROTATE_ERROR is associated with rotation in the Capture Engine recording path. IMFCaptureRecordSink exposes SetRotation and GetRotation for recorded video, so the failing configuration should be traced at the record sink and stream level.
Log the record-stream media path
- Record the stream index passed to the rotation method and the requested rotation value.
- Dump the source native media type and the output media type selected with
AddStream. - Check whether the stream is using a native passthrough path. The Capture Sink contract states that native H.264 record streams are passthrough-only and cannot be decoded for effects.
Rotation can require video processing between source and sink. A configuration that preserves a compressed native stream unchanged has different processing opportunities from an uncompressed preview stream routed into the record sink. Diagnose the selected path before substituting codecs or rewriting metadata.
