STATUS_ACPI_INCORRECT_ARGUMENT_COUNT
STATUS_ACPI_INCORRECT_ARGUMENT_COUNT describes an arity mismatch: the caller supplied too many or too few arguments for the AML operation or control method being evaluated. This condition can occur even when every supplied value has a valid type.
The distinction is useful when comparing firmware revisions. A method signature or a call site can change, while a same-named method remains in the namespace. Diagnose the caller and declared method contract together; checking only the object name can hide the mismatch.
The AML call shape did not match its argument count
- Record the called AML method, its declared argument count and the number actually supplied at the failing call site.
- Check DSDT and SSDT interactions for a replacement method definition that changed the expected call shape.
- Separate this result from
STATUS_ACPI_INVALID_ARGTYPE: count is correct there, but a supplied value is of the wrong kind.
