STATUS_LOG_POLICY_INVALID
STATUS_LOG_POLICY_INVALID reports that the installed set of policies for a CLFS log is invalid. The policy system governs low-level log management such as automatic growth or shrink, maximum and minimum size, new-container properties, and tail-advance behavior.
This is not a missing-policy result. In contrast to STATUS_LOG_POLICY_NOT_INSTALLED, the relevant policy state is present but not acceptable as a set. It also differs from STATUS_LOG_POLICY_CONFLICT, where an otherwise valid policy blocks a particular requested operation.
Validate policy as shared log state
- Query the current policies by type and compare their values with the log’s actual container inventory and intended management model.
- Coordinate changes among all clients sharing the physical log; conflicting updates can overwrite one another and create unexpected results.
- Reset or replace only the documented policy type that is responsible, rather than deleting containers or metadata to bypass policy enforcement.
