STATUS_FLT_FILTER_NOT_FOUND
This status means that Filter Manager could not resolve the requested filter identity. It is distinct from an instance failure: a filter is the registered driver-level object, while an instance is that filter's attachment to a particular volume.
Check the exact name passed to the lookup or management API, service load state, driver installation, and any recent unload. Do not substitute the service name, display name, or instance name for the registered filter name without verifying the API's naming contract.
Diagnostic sequence
- Enumerate registered filters and capture the name that Filter Manager exposes.
- Check driver load/unload events before reporting a path or volume problem.
- After locating the filter, query its instances separately for the intended volume.
