STATUS_GRAPHICS_NO_AVAILABLE_VIDPN_TARGET
Valid target IDs may still be unavailable
This status means the source cannot currently be assigned an available VidPN target. It is different from an invalid target ID: target objects can be real and enumerated, but none can be used for this source in the present topology and resource state.
The reason can be existing path ownership, connector routing limits, a target reserved by another source, or a change in display configuration. Diagnose the topology and allocation of all targets before treating it as a monitor discovery failure.
What to inspect
- Enumerate current targets and the paths already consuming them.
- Check clone and detach decisions, hot-plug state, and whether a target is unavailable because of a competing active topology.
- Compare with
STATUS_GRAPHICS_INVALID_VIDEO_PRESENT_TARGET, which means the identifier itself is not valid.
