STATUS_GRAPHICS_NO_ACTIVE_VIDPN

There is no active VidPN to query or modify

An active VidPN represents the currently committed display topology and mode state. This status means the adapter has a VidPN manager, but that manager does not currently expose an active VidPN for the requested operation.

The timing matters. The system may be before the first successful commit, during adapter stop, after a failed mode-set transition, or in a transient state where the active topology must be reacquired later. It is different from a stale topology: here there is no active object available to use.
