STATUS_TPM_MA_SOURCE
The migration source does not match the TPM migration flow
STATUS_TPM_MA_SOURCE indicates that the source side of a TPM migration-authority operation is inconsistent. The key, source credential, or source TPM information does not match the migration material submitted to the TPM.
This is different from destination authentication failure. Here the TPM is objecting to the origin information used to authorize or describe the migratable key.
When debugging, keep the source key public data, migration authority ticket, and destination data together. A common mistake is mixing a valid ticket with a different source key or TPM identity.
Diagnostic focus
- Verify the source key digest and handle used to construct the migration ticket.
- Check that the source information was not cached before key recreation.
- Compare the source data in the ticket with the key currently loaded in the TPM.
