STATUS_PCP_CLAIM_TYPE_NOT_SUPPORTED
The requested attestation or platform claim is not available here
STATUS_PCP_CLAIM_TYPE_NOT_SUPPORTED means the caller requested a platform claim type that this Platform Crypto Provider environment does not support. A claim is evidence about platform or key state; support depends on the provider, TPM capabilities, Windows implementation, and the particular claim requested.
The status is a capability result, not proof that the platform is untrusted. A relying party must distinguish "this claim is unavailable" from a claim that was generated and evaluated as false or invalid.
What to check
- Record the precise claim type and consumer protocol, not just the final CNG error.
- Check TPM version, Windows capability, provider configuration, and verifier requirements for that claim.
- Use a documented alternative evidence path only when the relying party's security policy explicitly allows it.
