STATUS_HV_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER

The caller’s result buffer cannot hold the requested data

STATUS_HV_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER is a caller-buffer sizing result. It differs from STATUS_HV_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFERS, which describes exhaustion of guest message buffers at a destination port. Here the problem is the capacity of the buffer supplied for the requested data.

Record the requested operation, supplied byte count, returned/required size if available, and the structure version expected by the hypervisor. A resized buffer must still meet the alignment, padding, page-boundary, and non-overlap requirements of the hypercall interface.
