STATUS_VOLMGR_VOLUME_LENGTH_INVALID
STATUS_VOLMGR_VOLUME_LENGTH_INVALID is a validation failure for the requested volume size. It should be analyzed together with the proposed extents, partition boundaries, sector geometry, and the volume model; a numeric size that appears plausible in a UI can still be invalid for the submitted layout.
This status is distinct from a sector-multiple error and from insufficient usable space. Those are narrower diagnoses. Here, Volume Manager has rejected the volume length as a whole.
What to verify
- Keep all calculations in one unit and compare the requested volume size with the layout's actual usable extents.
- Check for stale capacity after a resize, virtual-disk expansion, or storage-array reconfiguration.
- Review any maximum-size or topology constraint imposed by the requested volume type before retrying.
