STATUS_VOLMGR_NUMBER_OF_EXTENTS_INVALID

STATUS_VOLMGR_NUMBER_OF_EXTENTS_INVALID means that the extent count in the submitted volume layout is invalid. It is often an input-shape problem: the caller's declared count, allocated array, or selected volume topology does not form a layout that Volume Manager can accept.

Do not treat this as evidence that a disk is corrupt. First verify the management request and the current volume topology. A stale or partially constructed layout can name the right disks while still carry the wrong extent count.
