IMAPI_E_ISO9660_LEVELS

IMAPI_E_ISO9660_LEVELS is returned when the image is configured to create ISO 9660 and its directory hierarchy is too deep. Microsoft documents an eight-level directory limit for this IMAPI2FS validation. The same hierarchy can still be representable by a different output file system such as UDF.

Measure depth from the image root under the selected formats

Moving source directories on the host does nothing unless the destination hierarchy in FileSystemImage also changes. Count image-directory levels exactly as IMAPI sees them. In a multisession workflow, imported directories contribute to the hierarchy as well. Do not silently drop path components, because that can create name collisions or change application-visible layout; make the compatibility tradeoff explicit.
