Check the device-reported sector geometry

This status is about the sector sizes exposed by a physical disk to the Storage provider. It is not a filesystem cluster-size error and is not fixed by reformatting an NTFS or ReFS volume. A pool can reject a member whose logical or physical sector geometry is unsupported by the subsystem or inconsistent with the layout it is trying to create or extend.

Useful checks

Compare LogicalSectorSize and PhysicalSectorSize for every candidate disk, not only the new member.
Check controller, enclosure, and driver firmware because translation layers can change the geometry visible to Windows.
Choose media with compatible exposed geometry rather than changing virtual-disk resiliency values that do not address the mismatch.
