WDSTPC_E_MULTISTREAM_NOT_ENABLED

WDSTPC_E_MULTISTREAM_NOT_ENABLED is a policy/capability mismatch. WDS multistream handling detects clients that slow a multicast transmission and moves them to lower-speed streams of the same transmission, but that behavior exists only when the server is configured for the multistream slow-client mode.

Verify slow-client handling mode before demotion operations

Microsoft defines separate slow-client modes: none, automatic disconnect, and multistream. Multistream is therefore not inferred merely because several clients are joined to a multicast session. Management or automation code that requests client demotion must first inspect the configured policy. When configuration changes are made, also ensure the transport service has consumed the new settings before interpreting a stale session as a client capability problem.
