WDSCP_E_CONFIG_STRING_REQUIRED
WDSCP_E_CONFIG_STRING_REQUIRED is a missing-configuration error at the WDS content provider boundary. IWdsTransportNamespace exposes ContentProvider and Configuration as separate properties; selecting a provider does not automatically create the provider-specific configuration it requires.
Supply configuration before registering or using the namespace
- Read back both the namespace content-provider name and
Configurationproperty. - Ensure deployment automation does not drop an empty BSTR/null configuration while cloning or recreating a namespace.
- Validate required provider settings before a transmission starts, so content-open failures are not the first evidence of incomplete namespace configuration.
This status differs from WDSCP_E_INVALID_CONFIGURATION: here the provider requires a configuration string and none was provided; in the invalid case, a value exists but cannot be accepted. It also differs from WDSCP_E_NOT_A_DIRECTORY, where the provider parsed the configuration far enough to validate a path. Preserve those distinctions in configuration diagnostics because they point to different provisioning errors.
