What does Intel IPP status -184 (ippStsRegExpChClassErr) mean?

Previous Next
ippStsRegExpBackRefErr ippStsRegExpMetaChErr

ippStsRegExpChClassErr

This status isolates a problem inside a character class. The surrounding pattern may be well formed, but the bracket expression itself contains syntax that IPP cannot compile.

Common causes include an unterminated class, a range whose endpoints are reversed or escaped incorrectly, a literal hyphen in the wrong place, or locale/encoding assumptions copied from another regex implementation.
