A sampling factor controls how input samples map to output positions in resampling or sample-generation code. A non-positive factor would make that mapping meaningless.
This is usually a caller-side parameter bug or a failed parse of a sample-rate ratio.
Check these details
- The factor before and after reducing any rational ratio.
- That the value is in samples, not bytes or milliseconds.
- Whether integer truncation turned a small floating-point ratio into zero.
