ippStsNoOperation
A warning, not a generic failure
Positive IPP statuses are warnings: the function returns normally, but the result needs interpretation. ippStsNoOperation says the effective operation was empty. Depending on the primitive, this can follow clipping, a zero-sized transformed region, dimensions too small for the selected algorithm, or parameters that leave no output samples.
Do not treat this status as equivalent to ippStsNoErr. A destination buffer that was expected to be written may still contain its previous contents, so publishing or hashing it without checking the status can expose stale data.
Diagnostic checklist
- Log the source and destination sizes, ROI offsets, border mode, and any scale or transform factors.
- Calculate the effective intersection after clipping rather than validating only the original rectangle.
- Initialize output explicitly when an empty operation is a permitted path.
- Use the return value from the exact primitive to distinguish an intentional empty tile from a caller-side geometry bug.
