WSA_QOS_SENDERS
PATH state identifies a sender before any reservation is guaranteed
WSA_QOS_SENDERS indicates that an RSVP PATH message has established sender path state visible to a receiving application. The PATH message advertises the sender traffic specification and follows the routed data path, but it does not itself reserve bandwidth. A receiver still has to decide whether to issue a RESV request for the advertised flow.
Record the sender address, interface, Tspec-derived sending FLOWSPEC, and any Adspec information before selecting a reservation. In multicast, another PATH event can represent a different source, and routing changes can replace the previous-hop state. Do not treat the notification as proof that traffic will meet latency or bandwidth requirements; those guarantees depend on a successful receiver reservation, admission control at each hop, and the requested service model.
Path information worth preserving
- Sender address and transport identifier.
- Incoming interface and previous RSVP hop.
- Advertised token rate, bucket size, and peak rate.
- Whether a matching RESV request was later confirmed.
