ERROR_SXS_POLICY_PARSE_ERROR
ERROR_SXS_POLICY_PARSE_ERROR — A Side-by-Side policy manifest contains XML or policy syntax that Windows cannot parse.
Policy manifests redirect or bind assembly identities. A parse failure means Windows could not read the policy document before it could apply the requested binding.
The trace normally identifies the policy file and line or context that failed. Correct the policy manifest or reinstall the component that supplied it.
What to check
- Use sxstrace around the failing launch to obtain the exact policy-manifest path.
- Validate XML well-formedness and verify that the assembly identities referenced by the policy are valid.
- Avoid editing system policy files in WinSxS; repair the application or Windows component through its supported installer or servicing path.
